One of my principle joys in life is building guitars on “spec”, where I am the sole designer from start to finish. When I am my own client, so to speak, I have a great opportunity to try out new design and engineering ideas, new wood combinations, and even prototype entirely new guitar models. As much as I love to build custom guitars for discerning clients, when I build them on MY dime, I have totally free reign to follow the Muses wherever they take me. I believe it is very important to continually evolve and refine my craft skills, and the instruments I build.

Starting in 2014, I will be reserving about a third of my build slots for spec guitars; the rest will be custom, commissioned builds. Most of my spec guitars will be built to the most widely popular specifications, while being optimized for a wide range of playing styles; so they should have a broad appeal to many players.

And then, I can offer these already-built guitars for sale, either privately, or through a very select group of Fine Guitar Dealers. On this page, you can look through currently available Edwinson Guitars; and maybe you’ll find the ONE you’ve been looking for, NOW, TODAY...

Guitars Available Now

Some available guitars have been or will be placed with select dealers, on consignment. And, I may have two or three currently  in my possession. When I build guitars on spec, I usually keep them for a month or two before sending them out to dealers. During this time, I will offer them for sale, direct from the source, often at a discount. Prices listed

with each of the guitars below are the DEALER PRICE; so if you see a guitar you are interested in that I have not yet consigned to a dealer, call or email me, and I’ll let you know the actual price.

   I
will also consider reasonable offers, so it never hurts to ask. I want all my guitars to find good homes, so I will do what I can to accommodate your budget.

If you are buying direct from me, of course I will allow an approval period. I want to be sure that you love the guitar and definitely want to keep it before it is considered a firm sale. I would never want you to feel one iota of buyer’s remorse over your purchase of an Edwinson guitar.

My terms for this arrangement are as follows:  Once your payment for the guitar, plus shipping charges, is secured, I will ship the guitar to you by the most expeditious method. You will then have up to five days to get familiar with the guitar, play it, examine it, and decide if it is a keeper. If so, congratulations on your new acquisition!

However, if you decide that the guitar isn’t quite what you were looking for, you may return it for a full refund (minus shipping charges), provided it is in the same condition as when you received it. I will reimburse you via PayPal, bank check, or wire transfer, when the guitar arrives back to me.

Payments may be made via PayPal (adding a 2.5% service charge), Wire Transfer, Bank Check, or your personal check, allowing time for funds to clear.

Double click on the thumbnails below to go to the pages for each guitar. You will find detailed photos, a description, specifications, and other relevant information about each instrument. If you want to learn more, call me or send an email. My contact info is at the bottom of each page.

I will update this section of the site as guitars are sold, and as new ones become available. Subscribe to the RSS feed if you would like to be automatically updated on new offerings.

Thanks for looking! I hope you find the guitar of your dreams here. Anything you need, I’m at your service!

Special Notice, Late December 2013

Just as I was preparing to upload this new website to the server, I got a line on some exceptionally rare and desirable tonewood-- the Holy Grail of guitar tonewoods, the legendary TREE mahogany, from a seller in California who has a few sets to sell. If you haven’t heard of this remarkable wood, here’s a good place to start: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238177&page=3

You can also learn more by Googling “Mahogany the Tree”.

I decided to offer it here, for the short time it is available. If you decide to commission a custom Edwinson guitar built with this incredible wood, we must jump on this opportunity right away. The seller is offering the highest quality “tortoiseshell” figured sets for $2500/ set. This may be the last chance to secure a set of this legendary wood. If you are interested, please contact me ASAP at s.sheriff.luthier@gmail.com.

The pictured set is directly from the seller, and is typical of the very few sets he has to sell. Do your research, and get back to me. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime chance.
